BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) is an AI-powered browser extension that helps you understand what you’re reading or watching—fast. Using ChatGPT, BLUF can summarize, explain, and answer questions about the content on your current tab, whether it’s a website, a PDF document, a YouTube video, or even supported local files. Instead of skimming pages of text or replaying sections of a video, you can get the key points immediately and then dig deeper with follow-up questions.

BLUF is designed for real-world reading workloads, including long-form content. It can handle up to 50,000 words on a page, making it useful for lengthy articles, research papers, documentation, reports, and other dense materials. When you want the essentials without the fluff, BLUF puts the bottom line up front.

Using BLUF is simple: open the page, PDF, or YouTube video you want to understand, then activate the extension (right-click, click the toolbar icon, or press Shift + Alt + B). Choose “Summarize” to extract highlights, or “Explain” to turn complex sections into clearer language. You can also ask follow-up questions to refine what you need—clarify terms, identify key arguments, pull out action items, or get a quick answer that’s grounded in the content you’re viewing.
